Indianhead Mountain, a historic ski resort near Wakefield, MI, was founded by Jack English in the late 1950s, becoming a major UP ski destination known for its deep snow, but faced neglect in the 80s/90s before revitalization and eventual merger with Blackjack into Big Snow Resort in 2014, eventually becoming part of Snowriver Mountain Resort in 2022 under new ownership.
