From Vintage Aerial
It was built in the 1920s and operated by Robert Jonas for many years. Violet Morris bought it just after WWII and she and her son ran it for many years. Part of the golf course was on the east side of Newburgh Rd. and the greens there were still visible in the 1970s. I don't remember much about the interior because the Morrises closed almost all of it to the public. It did have a huge walk-in fireplace. The Purple Gang and prohibition stories were well circulated and never backed by facts, just 'my dad told me' stories. It was demolished in the 1980s.
