Pampa Lanes is being torn down as of May 28 2025. I remember it as a bowling alley but also a recording studio which hosted many big acts over the years, notably many Bob Seger. I remember hearing that huge slabs of marble were used to isolate the studio from the noise from the bowling alley. The studio closed but the bowling alley kept operating.

Pampa Recording Studio Inc. was a recording studio in the Detroit suburb of Warren, Michigan, located adjacent to the rear of Pampa Lanes Bowling Alley. Founded in 1971, the studio had mixing, dubbing, editing, mastering, and remote recording capabilities. Closed in the early 80's. The bowling alley caught fire in the early morning of November 20th 2019.
The owner and chief engineer was Jim Bruzzese, studio manager was Gregg Miller. Both handled mixing duties. Bob Seger - Smokin' O.P.'S was recorded here. Name variations include:
