This alley goes back to the 1950's. It closed as a bowling alley but the building remains intact. It was last used by County Line Equipment And Trailers.
From Beverlee Neitzke Glazier on Facebook:
Today I am sharing a couple of pages of the 1st Annual Bowler's Yearbook that was published in May of 1973. The bowling alley was the Midway Lanes, located on M46 between Meridian Road (M30) and Fenmore Road. Thank you, Joan McCormick, for sharing it with me. League History, as published in the Yearbook: The original league bowled in St. Louis at the Rivera Lanes until the present Merrill Lanes were built in 1952 with Ray Fenstamacher bringing the alleys with him in 1052 from Kalava, Michigan.
The pins were set at this time by semi-automatic pin setters with the help of area high school boys who put the pins into the machines. In 1959 automatic machines were installed for six lanes with the installation of two more lanes later by Monroe Shaw owner enlarging the alley to eight lanes. Mr. Shaw owned the lanes from 1959 to 65 when Harry Martin took over until 1970. Art Valliere then bought the lanes and is the present owner. (1973)
