This canoe livery operated from the 1960's and into the 1980's. The owners were (at different times) Joe Wakely and Bruce Smith. There are a few canoe operators still going in Grayling today (Carlisle, Penrod's, Borchers, Au Sable, Shel-Haven) but I am not seeing one at this address. There is an empty lot next to the old gas station at Ingham St and M-72 that once had canoes on it (see 2008 street view below), perhaps that was it.
