Back when this theater was open, Vernor Highway was known as Ferndale Ave.

Second-run neighborhood house in the Springwells area of Southwest Detroit. It was opened as the Ferndale Theatre in 1919. It was renamed Capitol Theatre by 1932. Closed sometime after 1950. The theatre has long since been torn down and is now the site of a Rite Aid pharmacy.
