The Wurlitzer pipe organ originally installed in the East side theater is now in the Baldwin theater, Royal Oak, Michigan. The theater was eventually converted to a church then later demolished.

August 1959 - The East Side Theatre, which was operated by the late Alfred Ackerman and established some 50 years ago by his father Sam, has been converted to a church.

February 1959 - David Korman closed the oldtime Eastside theatre, long Sam Ackermans house, with no plans for reopening.
