The theater opened in 1926 with a capacity of 600 and closed in 1955. There is an article on the opening in the 9/24/1926 edition of the Fordson Independent newspaper. I came across this while researching my Dad's old neighborhood. If anyone has photos, this would be most appreciated. The newpaper article follows: NEW THEATER OPENS HERE IN FORDSON A new movie house, known as the Fordson Theatre opened its doors last Thursday on Dix avenue in Fordson. This theatre has a seating capacity of 600 and changes shows five times a week. The show is located near Salina street on Dix and offers the several thousand people in that neighborhood a place of entertainment. Mr. Retty, one of the partners, states they have had a full house every night since the theatre opened.
