The Hillsdale Community Theater players moved into the former Civic Theater building (also known as the Civic Hall in its later years) in 1972 after nearly a decade of being located in a building at the Hillsdale County Fairgrounds. The Civic was renamed the Sauk Theater in 1975. The Hillsdale Community Theater presents live theatrical presentations at the Sauk throughout the year.
