This place goes back to the 1920's and operated under many names, I think. I am bit confused as there seems to be a cabin joint and a restaurant. Looking at the historical aerial photography it appears the restaurant was in front of a row of cabins but there was a motel also on the other side of the street. I am unclear on what is what here. I will get straight on this eventually and update the listing.
The bar/restaurant goes back to 1937 and burned in 1998. The inn goes back to the 20's and was demolished in 2011. At any rate, the site was used as a filming location for "Road to Perdition". Other names used for this place over they years are Jocko's, White Dog Inn, the Mallard Inn, and Bloko's. The last owner of the restaurant was Saugatuck Fire Chief John Blok. He had planned to rebuild after the fire but I don't think that happened. Saugatuck Dune Rides sits on one side of the street today.
