These cabins go back to the 1950's and are still operating as of 2024. They are very rustic and look well-maintained. Reviews are excellent.

Situated off Route 55 and within the Manistee National Forest, this unpretentious secluded retreat is a 15-minute walk from Chittenden Lake. The straightforward cabins feature private bathrooms and kitchenettes with fridges and stove ovens, as well as flat-screen TVs with DISH satellite channels. Some also have full kitchens and separate living spaces with sofas. There is direct access to walking and hiking trails from the site.
