The 200 room Wenonah Hotel was a big deal in its time. A full featured luxurious place the local people could be proud of. It was built in 1908 on the lot of the Fraser House which burned in 1906. The Wenonah hosted many dignitaries and celebrities over the years. I found articles on Pat Nixon and Mrs. Joseph Kennedy which can be seen below. The hotel was destroyed by fire in 1977 and the Delta College Planetarium sits on the site today.
