From the website:
Drive just 18 miles north of historic Alpena to home-like Fireside Inn. Your last miles before arriving at the resort will take you through winding roads surrounded by dense forests of pine, birch and balsam, giving hints of the joy to come. The clear sky, 30+ mile shoreline and 19 islands of Grand Lake provide an endless variety of scenery for you to enjoy.
When you arrive at the spacious Fireside Inn grounds, you will see the large, rambling Inn, and before you will be the shimmering 5,660-acre Grand Lake. Here and there over the grounds you will see cabins of various sizes. As you step into the Inn, the rustic but comfortable surroundings will make you feel at ease.
A pot of coffee is almost always brewing, typical of our informal atmosphere. It is safe and wholesome for children and relaxing for parents and other guests. Automobile traffic is not a hazard, as Fireside Inn has it's own semi-private roadway, Fireside Highway.
