The Downtown Lodge changed hands several times over the years and was known as Super 7, Knights Inn, and Main Street Lodge. By 2019, the motel was gone and replaced by a new building. Based on the newspaper clippings it seems the motel goes back to the mid-1960's. It was near the McMorran Convention Center so it would host folks attending events there. The Detroit Red Wings stayed there in 1968.
