I found one small ad on this location from 1945. It indicated there was a service station, garage, cabins and a "lunch room" on what was then US-112. There is also a small house attached which was probably the living quarters for the proprietor. This place was constructed (in the 40's?) long before I-94 came through and re-directed most of the traffic away from the Great Sauk Trail (US-12, Michigan Ave, Chicago Rd). I checked the Saline newspaper archives and I hit on a 1946 ad for Truckadero Garage at this address. It stated the Hiser Bros. had taken over. I love solving these little mysteries.
The stone and wood ruins still sit on the site. It looks as though it closed decades ago. There are few interesting photos of it on Flickr which I won't steal. I will get out there myself and take some photos of what is left. You can see the foundations for the gas pumps in the street view photos below. My assessment is the tourist cabins mentioned in the ad were positioned across the street and they can be seen on the 1955 aerial photo. The parcel map indicates they are part of the same lot. A large house sits on that lot today.
