The original building for the Hotel was called The Wahkonsa Building and was purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Steve Cummings from John Levy in 1921. The Cummings remodeled the building and opened the hotel at that time. In 1942, Orville Wieland took over and renamed it to Pictured Rocks Hotel. He owned a grill previously and moved that into the hotel. In Dec 1943, Mr. Cummings passed away.
I am not sure how long the hotel operated after Mr. Wieland took it over. As for the structure, a building stands on that corner today but it looks completely different. It has a restaurant on the ground floor. I don't know if that is a remodeled version of the original or not.
