The El Dorado goes back to the 1950's and was at the corner of Old US-27 and Herbison Rd. As you can see from the 1956 aerial, the motel sat alone in those days, and Herbison was non-existent E of US-27, or was a country road. It was operated by Ezequiel and Joyce Ramirez in the 60's. Sadly Ezequiel passed away from Covid in March of 2023.
By the 1990's, that stretch of road was getting more built up and the old motel was razed to make way for what is now a bank as of 2023. Sadly, I haven't been able to find a photo of the motel or postcard. I will eventually and post it here.
