This site is intended to be a historical as well as current record of various attractions but it is not always possible to have up-to-date information due to the vast number of locations featured here. This 5 unit motel was started by Clarence Hood, who had the land since 1949. He first built a drive-in restaurant on it then added the motel by 1951. By 1970, it was operating as the Hiawatha Green Stone Lodge. The Gogebic Range Home Industries Store was then installed in the lodge. The trail of information runs cold beyond that. I found a site on the 1952 aerial photo that appears to be the place. I will go with that for now pending further info.
