This motel opened in 1953 and was built by Gordon Lather. It was then operated by Bob and Evida Biehl. Bob was a WWII vet who passed away in November of 2016. The Beihl's sold the motel to Ward and Eleanor Bonner in 1967 (from a book called We All Made History - 2013). Bob's death notice also stated the Pleasant Grove became the Mancelona Motel, which is still operating as of 2022. Clearly lots of changes have been made to the original structure.
