The Pleasant opened June 11, 1965, it was built by the Chipmans, who also built the Greenville and the Ionia DIT's. Built on 23 acres that were formerly part of the John Weaver farm. The Pleasant was a year round DIT, sort of. Each year they closed briefly in March for between two to four weeks. The ads indicate that the used "Bernz-O-Matic Sun Powered Heaters."
The caption to the photo reads: "AREA'S NEWEST OUTDOOR THEATER--This view of the Pleasant Drive-In, the area's biggest entertainment center, shows the ticket booth, parking area and the mammoth screen.
