General Information:

The West Point Drive-In opened on July 1, 1955 with Kirk Douglas in “2,000 Leagues Under the Sea”. It was originally part of Midwest Theatres, then Butterfield and finally operated by Mid-States until its closing. No closing date listed. The ozoner had a car capacity listed at 800 with a single screen. It has since been demolished.

Regarding an earlier comment, 1984 was the last full season the West Point was open. However it may have been open for just a few short weeks early in the spring of 1985 before it closed for good as i recall. I know that by the summer of '85 it was closed.

I can remember seeing this abandoned DI back in about 1994 or 1995. It was still intact then but very heavily overgrown. Anyone know when it was closed?
