Kim's goes back to the 1980's, probably before. I used to frequent the restaurant myself. I always liked the architecture of the building. The owner of the restaurant was convicted and sentenced for 9 months for employing illegal labor in 2018. Normally an immigration charge like that wouldn't result in a prison sentence except in this case 5 illegal laborers died in a house fire. The owner was letting them stay in his basement and careless smoking resulted in a fire killing all of the workers. The restaurant subsequently closed and was demolished. A Panda Express sits on the site today, but the old Kim's was actually set back from the road a bit.
