The original address on this place comes back to a vacant lot at Woodward and W Brentwood St as of 2023. I found some legal documents online from 1971 pertaining to this place and the postcard and matchbook. I assume this place went the way of many such joints in Detroit and is long gone. The mentions in the newspapers go back to 1962. Sam Gilbert and Irv Saks ran the place back then. The place was padlocked due to some vice issues in 1978 but apparently re-opened when new owners came in, changing the name to Rampart St.
Prior to Saksey's, Miller's Sea Food and Chop House occupied the space in the 1940's. In the 1930's, it was Young's Garden Lunch Counter.
