The Te-Kon was started in 1944 by Milo Fousel and Ed Voshen at M-60 and Old US-27. By 1951, they erected a new, larger structure to house the restaurant and truck stop. Evidently the original version was 2 separate buildings. Mr. Fousel retired from the business in 1968. The facility stood where a Shell Gas Station sits as of 2023. There was also a diner called the Patio and a Chevrolet dealer that once occupied that intersection.
