Topinka's was a fine dining establishment known to anyone growing up in the 50's and 60's in Metro Detroit (like me). It was established by Ken Nicholson in May 1958 and was famous for prime rib and turtle soup. Apparently the 7 Mile Rd building was occupied prior to that as Seafood Grotto. It was demolished in 1989 and the contents were auctioned off. It was being run by Al Balooly at the end and lack of business was cited as the reason for the closure. It was replaced with a strip mall that still stands today as of 2023. There was also a location at 2960 W Grand Blvd across from the Fisher Building which is also gone.
