The first hotel in Gull Lake was built in 1882 by E. L. Hawks at the site of the Gull Harbor Inn. It was called Hawks Landing at the time. That place burned in 1925 and the Gull Lake Hotel was built which became the Inn. It was remodeled and expanded in 1955. There were 20 sleeping rooms and space for 500 diners. The restaurant closed in 1977 after a re-zoning effort and was razed to make way for a new housing development. I have used the address of the current Gull Lake Country Club as that is the general location of the old Inn.
