This was a warehouse facility that goes all the way back to 1946. It was torn down in 2005 and is now a dog park which is mostly an empty lot. I remember driving past this plant many times on the way to the Capri Drive-In which is just West of here. At the time I recall it was fenced off and the lot was overgrown with weeds. There has been talk of a mixed use development on this lot but nothing has come to fruition as of 2025. Federal Mogul goes back to 1899.
I also included a photo below of the old Federal Mogul Headquarters building in Southfield. It was a stone's throw from my house and it is quite and amazing example of modern architecture. The architect was Louis Rossetti, a French-born architectural engineer who got his start in the offices of Albert Kahn who would be familiar to anyone who grew up in Metro Detroit.
