I am seeking information on Harmon Willcutt who would have raced on this track in the early 1950s.

John M. you should post the pics of your 'work in progress' as I see there are no pics of any cars from the track. Good Winter project too I'm sure.

Randy. Yes I do have several that all need work. Have been collecting the parts and hope to have one running next summer.

John M...that does sound like it was a fun time...those kinds of memories is what made racing the fun thing to go see back in the day. I still go to tracks around lower SE area in MI...miss the 'good ole days' though. And are you the one restoring a few of the old cars from back in the day?

Hi Randy. I raced that first race Feb. of 89. What a riot. I was still racing Arnie Lacombe a lap after the race ended as neither of us could see because of the mud!
I saw the flagman hand the checker to the winner so I slowed and Arnie didn't. Took the sheetmetal off the drivers side of my car.
Oh and the race was stopped every 5 laps I believe and a crew member had to come out and wipe the mud off our cars to see the numbers. We used cans of pop shook up to spray the mud off the radiator between races. My pit man is still mad at me as he had to throw away his snowmobile suit after the races!!!!!
I am quite sure this race had something to do with my motor expiring back at Kzoo the 2nd race of the year.
They don't have fun like that any more!!!

from my research:
The original track on this site was Mid Michigan Raceway, a 1/3 mile circle which operated from February 26th, 1989 through 1991. The current track is an entirely new 1/3 mile dirt oval built on the same location, which opened in 1996.
