Just south and east of here were the grounds of the annual Milford Fair. The first fair was held in August of 1880 and repeated every year until 1940 when it was discontinued through World War II. It reopened from 1945 through 1949, but was transferred to Pontiac after that time. The oval where horse racing, and later car racing, took place can still be seen beyond the building
