This convenience store/gas station combo was started by Germaine Jennings in the early 50's or before. It changed hands to Stanton and Martha Miner in 1972 after Mr. Jennings passed away in August of 1971. There was a bit of a hubbub over the transfer of the beer and wine license but that was resolved.
The store and gas station are still going as of 2025 as a Sunoco station. I stop in when I go by because stations in more remote areas like this are a throwback worth supporting. I remember tons of small gas stations in rural areas and neighborhoods in my earlier days but most of them have closed. Pretty much have to go to a busy road to find gas now, not that it is hard to get. No more are the 2 pump outfits with no party store.
