My mom has told me tons of stories about this one, really wish someone would build another art house theater here in town. I appreciate the work the Kalamazoo Film Society does but its not enough. I''ll be okay soon enough though, moving to Chicago later this year.

This was a small 2 screen theatre in the basement of a shopping center in downtown Kalamazoo, mainly built for art, foreign, and classic films; it showed many types of films. Rocky Horror Picture Show made a name for itself here for approx 3 years running. Closed and demolished later 80s. It was a nice small theatre and could see great foreign films, that now have to wait until they run on IFC or similar.

This was such a nice theater. In the summer they ran a childrens movie series including such titles as The Secret Garden and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. While other theaters showed common Holywood trash, the Bijou screened the GOOD films.
