The Hilltop Drive-In was operated by Delft Theatres when it opened and later by Mescop and then M. Peterson. The drive-in opened on May 1, 1953 with Charlton Heston in “The Savage”. It had a car capacity listed at 500 with a single screen. It is listed as closing in 1989 and has since been demolished.

I found a smattering of articles on the theater, most notably one about a worker dying while painting the place in 1968 and a burglary in 1955. Also a vandalism report in 1966.

The lonely ticket booth stands as a witness to the residential development that takes place at the former site of the Hilltop Drive-In. The site is named Hilltop Estates and one of the streets is named Theater, which will remind the local residents of the heritage of the location as a DI.
